The landscape reflects NCSU’s goal of making Talley a nexus of pedestrian connectivity for the main campus and the site provides a large green space for campus events, outdoor dining, and social spaces and links the building to key campus pedestrian paths.
Bolton & Menk partnered with NCSU and the design team to renovate and expand the Talley Student Center, a prominent building on the main campus. The project creates a new era for NCSU by honoring the campus's history while incorporating modern elements. The landscape design focuses on pedestrian connectivity and provides gathering areas and a spacious green space for events, dining, and socializing. The building features green roofs, rainwater recycling, and sustainable plantings, reducing runoff and providing insulation. Paving patterns seamlessly integrate with the building's design, enhancing the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.
