Public outreach through hosting various technical and community advisory meetings, multiple open house/public information meetings, council work sessions, and other presentations helped ensure that all community members understand how the project would impact them.
Having a clear understanding of the city’s objectives for the project, Bolton & Menk worked with impacted businesses, city staff, city council, and Algona Municipal Utilities to produce a streetscape and utility replacement plan. This approach satisfied the cooperative vision that was essential to the project. Throughout the design process, Bolton & Menk implemented a public outreach plan by hosting various technical and community advisory meetings, multiple open house/public information meetings, council work sessions, and other presentations. Regular newsletters, social media interaction, and meetings with impacted stakeholders ensured that all understand how the project would impact them daily.
