Many local businesses had expressed interest in basing their aircraft at the airport, creating a substantial waiting list.
Two local businesses approached the city about basing their corporate aircraft at RWF if the city constructed hangars for rent. The city also had a waiting list of pilots wanting to base at RWF. The city elected to combine construction of large corporate hangars with general aviation hangars into one building. Bolton & Menk developed a plan to construct two 65-foot-wide by 65-foot-deep hangars with 20-foot door clearance and five 40-foot-wide by 40-foot-deep hangars with 12-foot door clearance. The project was constructed using FAA funding, reducing the city share to five percent.
