The existing bituminous pavement on Runway 11/29 was last rehabilitated in 2007. Since that time the existing cracks had widened, the longitudinal joints have deteriorated, and the surface aggregate began to be exposed. The bituminous pavement on Runway 18/36 was constructed in 2007. Since that time no pavement rehabilitation had been completed.
For Runway 11/29, the project involved crack repair, patching of the transverse pavement joints, two part crack repair for wider cracks, and application of an asphalt seal coat. For Runway 18/36, the project involved crack repair, two part crack repair for wider cracks, and application of an asphalt seal coat.
The pavement life for Runway 11/29 and 18/36 is now extended, thus saving the city from costly pavement repairs.
