The taxiway was opened the day after construction was completed.
Taxiway C is a partial parallel taxiway to Runway 18/36. The taxiway ended 1,100 feet south of the Runway 18 threshold. In order to increase safety operations on Runway 18/36, Taxiway C was extended 1,100 feet to the Runway 18 threshold. This provides a full parallel taxiway to Runway 18/36 and avoids back-taxiing on the runway. The project was completed within the allowable federal funding. The taxiway was opened the day after completing construction to the joy of the many airport users.

The FDR process allowed the city to rehabilitate Runway 15/33, Taxiway A, and the apron
