Home / SW and SE Connector Corridor Study, Ward County, North Dakota
Using technologies including Infraworks, StreetLight, INPUTiDTM, and scenario planning to inform decision-making, manage data, and obtain and respond to stakeholder feedback, the team will arrive at a safe and reliable connector route.
The US 2/52 corridor experiences high traffic volumes and crash rates. Ward County has explored the option of a southern bypass around the City of Minot to improve regional mobility and safety. The SW/SE Connector Corridor would connect US 2/52 to US 83 outside the city, offering benefits to agricultural and freight traffic, while not hindering urban growth. These improvements have the potential to alleviate some of the worst congestion on the urban core’s roadways and establish new minor arterials where no such routes exist, improving mobility for cars and trucks.
With many design challenges and considerations, Bolton & Menk is working with Ward County to evaluate alternatives for this future critical route. Using technologies including Infraworks, StreetLight, INPUTiDTM, and scenario planning to inform decision-making, manage data, and obtain and respond to stakeholder feedback, the team will arrive at a safe and reliable connector route.
