The new water treatment facility is successful in removing radium from the drinking water.
The City of Houston selected Bolton & Menk to take over another engineer’s report to obtain approval and funding. At that time, the report had been submitted, but additional details were added by Bolton & Menk to help secure funding and move the project forward. The City of Houston designed and built a new water treatment plant for removal of radium, rehabilitated both of their wells and wellhouses, and corrected some watermain and services around the new facility. The city received funding from the MN PFA Drinking Water Revolving Fund, a grant from the Water Infrastructure Fund, and a grant from Small Cities (DEED). The facility is successful in removing radium from the drinking water.
